Mobile Implementation Framework: Deploying Apps for Any Population

5th Annual International Symposium: Emerging Technologies for Online Learning 2012

Presenters:  Ryan Seilhamer and Amy Sugar

This session explores the adoption of mobile apps at the University of Central Florida. This includes UCFMobile and Blackboard Mobile Learn, which give faculty and students access to campus information and online classes using their mobile devices. Data from our recent mobile survey related to the use of mobile devices and apps on our campus is presented. In addition, we share examples of how faculty from a variety of disciplines (e.g., Communications, Hospitality, History) are integrating mobile apps in their courses. We also discuss the mobile implementation framework to show how this scalable solution can help to plan, test, pilot, and implement mobile apps to a population of any size.
